April/May News - Show at The Chapel Performance Space

bosco - Posted on 21 April 2009

Hello! In this latest newsletter, please find the following blockbuster content:

* What's with all of the spam?
* Release Party Photos and Report
* Nickel & Brass Septet @ The Chapel, May 2, 2009, 8pm. $5-15 sliding scale.
* Four-Color Heroes! News

* What's with all of the spam?
If it seems like you just got one of these, it's because you did. Maybe even two in the past 4 weeks. That's a pretty high velocity for an email newsletter, so I want to apologize for that and also to assure you that it won't be a regular thing. There's just a lot of news recently, plus some big shows right on top of one another. After this awkward period, things will settle down and I'll be back to sending these things out every month, tops. As always, there is information on unsubscribing at the bottom of this email. But don't do it. I'll miss you too much.

* Release Party Photos and Report
Thanks to everyone who made it out to the release party for Four-Color Heroes! this past weekend. The show was great fun and I was happy to see so many friends come out to The Mix in Georgetown. What a cool space. My friend Bruce Moore took some great photos which you can see here.

Keep checking my website for new photos, which I will post soon.

If you weren't able to make it to the show, you have another chance to see the band coming right up. We play at The Chapel Performance Space in Wallingford on May 2nd. The show starts at 8pm and is all-ages, so think of it as a family-friendly alternate Release Party. The Chapel is a beautiful space and it is wonderful to play music there. The cost is $5-15 sliding scale, so come on by and pay what you can.

More info on the show can be found here:

Hope to see you there!

* Four-Color Heroes! News

Four-Color Heroes! continues to get airplay, newsplay and other kinds of exciting attention. My favorite was getting to do an interview with Seattlest about the CD, jazz and comics. Check it out:

A roundup of all of the recent news and developments can be found on my blog here:

All of this good news doesn't mean that it's Easy Street here at Four-Color Heroes HQ, though. Publicity is fantastic but is slow to generate sales or attendance at shows. I still need your help to get the word out about the CD. So call those radio stations, ask for it at your local record stores, request it from your local libraries and (especially) tell your friends.

Thanks to help from friends and fans, the CD has found its way into the Seattle Public Library and the UW library. Help me get it into a library near you.

That's all for now. Stay tuned for a new blog feature on the inspirations behind the songs of Four-Color Heroes!, which should start later this week.

Thanks for your support and I hope to see you at a show soon!

best,
-andrew boscardin
